The veterinary drug is effective against intestinal resident (developing) L4 stages of the small strongylids. At 8 weeks after treatment, early (hypobiotic) L3 stages of the small strongylids are eliminated.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">The veterinary drug has been proven safe for use in broodmares and for use during pregnancy and lactation. Administration of the veterinary drug has no adverse effect on the fertility of mares.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\"><strong>Contraindications<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">Do not administer to foals younger than 6.5 months of age. Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to the active ingredients or any of the excipients.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">The veterinary drug is specially formulated for use only in horses. Adverse effects may occur in dogs or cats due to the concentration of moxidectin in this veterinary drug if they ingest gel or have access to used syringes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\"><strong>Dosage<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">A single administration of 400 \u03bcg moxidectin \/kg body weight and 2.5 mg praziquantel \/kg body weight using the calibrated syringe with each dash indicating 25 kg body weight.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">To ensure correct dosing, body weight should be determined as accurately as possible; the accuracy of dosing should be monitored. For accurate dosing, the use of a scale or measuring tape is recommended.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">Before the first dose, hold the syringe so that the cap points to the left and the weight indications and measurement marks (small black lines) are visible. Set the syringe to zero by turning the dosing ring so that the left side of the ring is at the first full black mark and push the plunger down and safely remove any paste that is released.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">Hold the syringe as previously described to dispense the veterinary drug. Each gauge line corresponds to 25 kg body weight and 10 mg moxidectin\/62.5 mg praziquantel.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">Turn the dosing ring until the left side of the ring is aligned with the animal's weight. One syringe is for treating a 700 kg horse.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">The praziquantel dose in the veterinary drug has been selected high in the dose range for the treatment of tapeworm. The veterinarian should advise on appropriate deworming and grazing schedules to achieve optimal parasite control.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\"><strong>Special warnings<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">Environmental hazards have been identified for this veterinary drug and special precautions apply.
